Description

A companion volume to our bestselling Japanese Quilt Blocks, this book focuses on using the traditional Japanese neutral and taupe colours which are so much a part of the Japanese aesthetic and are so popular today. As in the first book, the author shows the reader how to design quilts using styles and colours to create beautiful, Japanese-style quilts. The book covers materials, colour and patterns and then moves on to equipment and techniques such as piecing by machine, part-sewn seams, half squares and corner squares, applique methods and finishing - embroidery and embellishments as well as joining blocks and finally assembling. The book is very different from the first volume in that it uses a completely different range of colours and provides the reader with 125 new patterns.
