“Journey” is an over-used word in the music business. But it's a fitting description of Casey Barnes' new album. The record took Casey from his Gold Coast home to Sydney, Byron Bay, Nashville and New York. It's the story of chance meetings in a Nashville caf , natural disasters, chasing your dreams and finding love. The album takes the listener on a trip to many musical styles, from the pure pop thrills of Running To You and With Me to the country-tinged Bluff, the cruisy Burn So Bright and the beautiful ballad Falling For You.As Casey sings in Running To You, “I'm waiting to take you to places we've never been.” Appropriately, Casey called the album Jet Trails.Much of the album was produced by Anthony Lycenko, the ARIA-nominated engineer and producer (Pete Murray, Xavier Rudd, Busby Marou), while Michelle was mixed by Grammy winner Jason Lehning, who has worked with one of Casey's favourite artists, Mat Kearney.
