It works, our microwave is not normal, yet I was still able to get poached eggs.
I have tried different micro settings, different times putting a little vinegar in the water, etc. but to no avail. I get one egg kind of done and the other is still raw! Don't bother with this gadget. Which is a shame as I have quite a few Joseph Joseph utensils and they work beautiful and do the job well. But not this one unfortunately! :-(
