Comfortable to wear, but it's not the strongest headset. I suppose they would last a long time as long as you didn't leave it sitting on your couch where it might accidentaly be sat on. Mouthpiece is adjustable which is good. Headset plugs straight into your controller. So no separate batteries are required for the headset to work, which is also good.

When you are chatting to people, although the headset is pretty sensitive, the sound is very clear. It will pick up sounds from all around you. Anything within a few metres of range. Which means you might have to minimise background noise sometimes, e.g. turn off the stereo playing music in the background. As most mid to loud volume background noise will be picked up as you are chatting and/or playing and can frustrate others. Alternatively the headset has a mute/unmute switch on it. So you can switch it onto ‘mute’ whenever you feel the need, so that you can still hear everything yourself, but other gamers won't be able to hear you.

Price is awesome. You really get value for money with one of these. You could go for pricier Xbox 360 headsets that out currently out, or are to be released in the future, and you would most likely be paying alot more for something that this headset already has or can do.

Well, I balked at the cost of the 1st party headset, as with the VGA cable.

I am more about saving the $10–20 and investing it back into games, so I was very interested to see this headset coming in MUCH cheaper than the MS version. But, what are the differences, why is this so cheap in comparison?

Put simply, it's because this unit has been designed with the budget gamer in mind.

First things first – the unit was packaged nicely, a recurring theme it would seem. A lot of Xbox 360 green and curves etc.

The quality doesn't feel quite as nice as the 1st party Xbox (1) Live headset. I also don't like the over the head design, as opposed to the behind the head design of the old headset.

I'm slightly worried about how durable this item will end up being in daily use. It just doesn't feel like it can take much punishment without falling into pieces. I'm more than happy to be surprised and find out it's bullet proof. It just doesn't feel like it…

I was able to test this unit using the 2.5m plug, and the old Xbox live headset adapter. The quality of the sound is actually a positive, as the speaker projects the voice of the other person(s) incredibly loud, yet staying clear. While playing Halo 2 I found it much easier to actually tell what the Americans were saying.

The control pad is located in-line, with a clip designed to attach to your shirt. Handy.

All in all, if you're careful with your things (or this unit is much more solid than it appears to be) you will find the headset to have great sound quality, handy ‘remote’, and is (above all) really damn cheap.
