KNIGHTS OF THE ZODIAC is a fast-paced, futuristic, action, adventure series which pits the forces of good against evil as the Knights of Athena battle the Knights of Ares for control of the sacred Golden Cloth of Sagittarius…and the Word!! Led by Bronze Knight SEIYA, the Knights of Athena draw upon their amazing martial arts skills as well as their mystical powers, each keyed to a different sign of the Zodiac, as they attempt to defeat PHOENIX and his Black Knights, who would do anything to gain the Cloth of Sagittarius. EPISODES THE NEBULA CHAIN OF FRIENDSHIP Hyoga tries his Aurora Thunder Attack on Ikki, but it does no good, as Black Swan has telepathically communicated to Ikki the secrets of Hyoga’s attack. Ikki uses his hypnotic powers to play on Hyoga’s worst fear that his mother might be in danger and then delivers a punch which renders Hyoga totally weak and helpless. Ikki takes Hyoga’s piece of the gold cloth. Meanwhile, a revived but still weak Shiryu arrives and meets up with Kiki. Shun finds Seiya lying on the ledge below, but as he tries to use his chain to haul him to safety, he is attacked by Black Andromeda. Shun defeats him, but Black Dragon also arrives. Before he can attack Shun, Shiryu shows up and begins to fight his counterpart as Shun continues his rescue efforts. DUAL OF THE DRAGONS Shiryu and Black Dragon battle as Shun works to pull Seiya up to safety. Weakened as he is, Shiryu is getting the worst of the battle. He remembers Roshi’s advice, not to use Rising Dragon when he’s so weak, as it drains so much of his power. Determined to keep Black Dragon busy long enough for Shun to save Seiya, Shiryu uses the punch anyway. For a moment, it appears that he has defeated Black Dragon, but the enemy reappears. By this time Shiryu is so weak that he is at Black Dragon’s mercy. Black Dragon, surprisingly, gives up the rest of his own power to restore Shiryu’s strength as he is impressed by the power of the friendship among the Bronze Knights. Revived, Shiryu helps Shun pull Seiya up, and they examine their friend, whose skin has turned black from the negative energy within. Shiryu hits his pressure points to release the evil energy, and they leave him to recover, gathering the pieces of gold cloth and heading out to find Ikki. Ikki finds them instead. Shiryu and Shun are at his mercy when Seiya appears, ready to battle Ikki on his own. DEFEAT OF THE PHANTOM DEMON Ikki and Seiya are about to fight when Hyoga appears and Shiryu revives. Ikki now faces all four Bronze Knights. Hyoga fights and defeats Ikki, using the lesson he learned in their last battle. Not for long, however, Ikki fights back and soon only Seiya is left standing because the gold cloth has assembled itself and defended him. As Seiya and Ikki fight, Seiya finds the weapons of the other Bronze Knights coming to his aid. He uses Shiryu’s shield, Shuns chains, and Hyoga’s Aurora Thunder Attack to defeat Ikkie.
