Description

This is Volume 2 in the LeaderThink series. LeaderThink is all about reminding us that each day offers a new opportunity to be a good leader. The choices you make and the actions you take build your leadership legacy one week at a time. Tracy Brown originally created the LeaderThink(r) newsletter to encourage, equip and empower volunteers in a national professional association to be the best leaders they could be. Through word of mouth the subscriber list has grown to include leaders in all professions. The book is a collection of short essays or articles focused on leadership compiled from past issues of the newsletter. Each starts with a quotation and is followed by 1-5 paragraphs of commentary.

Author Biography:

From being a leader in extracurricular activities in high school to serving on the faculty for a certificate program on leadership for nonprofit executives today, Tracy has more than four decades of experience thinking, and acting, like a leader. She is the owner of two businesses, an active community volunteer, the author of several books on workplace issues and a passionate voice for multicultural inclusion. Tracy grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and attended public schools there. At school and at church she was expected to be a leader and to make a positive difference in the world. As a result, Tracy has achieved high goals in her profession and in her community. She has served as a volunteer leader for more than a dozen community-based organizations involved in health care, the performing arts and improving life for previously homeless or disadvantaged individuals. She is one of the creators of the Dallas Dinner Table process, which brings people together in small groups to increase understanding about the impact of race and racism in the daily lives of local citizens. And she actively volunteers with the Center for Nonprofit Management helping leaders in agencies nationwide improve their ability to lead. Tracy is President of Diversity Trends, LLC, a consulting and training firm based in Dallas, Texas. She helps her clients improve communication, leadership and customer service skills, strengthen their commitment to multicultural inclusion and align their people-focused programs with their strategic business priorities. As an author and consultant Tracy has made appearances on many local radio and television programs. She's also been interviewed or featured nationally in Money Magazine, BLR Reports, The Network Journal, HR Insights, Texas Business Monthly, HR Magazine, Heart and Soul Magazine and other publications. But Tracy is not all work and community service. Whatever city her business might take her to you can often find her relaxing at a rollerskating rink, or in the audience of a play or jazz concert.
