The Australian Shepherd is a true American breed - proud, independent, loyal, and family-oriented. They are super loyal to their people almost to the point of being a stalker. Aussies are considered velcro-dogs so if you want to go to the bathroom in peace, don't get one! Extremely versatile, you can do any sport or activity with Aussies. Remember, however, if you do anything dirty there is a lot of coat to clean and when they shed, man do they ever shed! High energy dogs, they are great for active families. They are also super sensitive (making great therapy dogs) and can get their feelings hurt very easily. Be fair and you will have a friend for life!
