For a gamebook nerd this game, with its screeds of adventure booklets full of
text choices to make, is a dream. It has a very simple game system that makes it
easy for the young to latch onto. In my opinion there's a good system here that
could be put to good use. However, if you don't like gamebooks or lots of text
to have to read to the other players this game is probably not for you. The
story included develops nicely, albeit a little slowly. It is full of detail
that makes sense when you understand it is written (very well, as has been
pointed out by many reviewers) by a woman – makes a nice change from
relentless hack & slash but can also be boring for those expecting a
Fighting Fantasy action-type gamebook or who aren't as interested in marriage
ceremonies and the ins and outs of relationships. In my opinion a good system
and nice construction. However, for some, the inclusion of LGBT and Trans
elements may be offputting.
