Author Biography

Nancy Morejon is the best known and most widely translated woman poet of post-revolutionary Cuba and regularly tours the United States. Her work addresses contemporary issues of ethnicity, gender, history, politics, and Afro-Cuban identity. Alice Walker has received numerous awards for her fiction, non-fiction and poetry, including the Pulitzer Prize in 1983 for The Color Purple.
