"Excellent adaptation of Flemings second Bond novel"
5 stars"

Live and Let Die introduced a number of new elements to the Bond franchise, the forefront of these being the introduction of the wonderful Sir Roger Moore to the role. An action packed adventure from the start concluding with a fight with the main villain in a shark tank. Also features a killer song by Paul McCartney and Wings. Unmissable.

Description

Live and Let Die (2012 Version)

Get Moore!

In Roger Moore's first outing as 007, he investigates the murders of three fellow agents, he soon finds himself a target, evading vicious assassins as he closes in on the powerful Kananga (Yaphet Kotto).

Known on the streets as “Mr. Big,” Kananga is coordinating a globally threatening scheme using tons of self-produced heroin. As Bond tries to unravel the mastermind's plan, he meets Solitaire (Jane Seymour), the beautiful Tarot card reader whose magical gifts are crucial to the crime lord. Bond, of course, works his own magic on her, and the stage is set for a series of pulse-pounding action sequences involving voodoo, hungry crocodiles and turbo-charged speedboats.

Critic Reviews:

  • " There are some splendid action sequences, notably a speedboat leap that set a new world record, as well as the usual array of hi-tech gadgetry. " – Tom Hutchinson
  • " Two hours long and anti-climactic, but Bond fans won't be disappointed. " – Verina Glaessner
  • " Live and Let Die has been especially well photographed and edited, and it makes clever and extensive use of its good title song, by Paul and Linda McCartney. " – Roger Greenspun
