Lizzobangers is the first official solo album from Minneapolis, MN rapper/singer Lizzo. A collaboration with producer Lazerbeak (of indie rap crew Doomtree), Lizzobangers marks the culmination of Lizzo's three years spent in the thriving and close knit Twin Cities music community, after moving up from Houston in 2011. Mutual friend and musical collaborator Ryan Olson (Totally Gross National Product founder, Gayngs/Marijuana Deathsquads/Polica mastermind) creatively oversees the project, while laid back hype-man Cliff Rhymes adds even more layers to Lizzo's dynamic vocals. Having already launched female powerhouse groups GRRRL PRTY and The Chalice to critical acclaim and local success, Lizzo is now stepping out on her own to deliver an album packed with explosive rhymes and soulful hooks over Lazerbeak's signature bangers. The end result is a brave new project that encapsulates the best parts of both the familiar and the future.
