Logitech Pro Flight X52 Control System reviews

A must have ..... You won't regret buying a X52. I tried a lot and this would be my recomendation, look no further, just so many ways to set it up for your own preferances, just amazing ......... BK

Having just purchased this stick from Mighty Ape, I have spent the last 6 hours trying to get it to calibrate properly, but without coming anywhere near getting anything even reasonably acceptable. Both the joystick aileron control movement constantly spikes resulting in stuttering of control surfaces when performing a barrel roll and similarly the throttle refuses to adjust smoothly and wont close off fully either. For $349.00 I'd expect a lot more so don't waste your time or money as I did.

This X52 Pro, Hands-On Throttle and Stick is nice looking with many buttons, dials and keys. The grip/s surfaces held during use are matted and nonslip, just enough chrome to jazz it all up while keeping a black theme. The lighting is amazing with each major button/trigger having three colours to pick from with adjustable lighting intensity. The options for dead zones and other adjustments are all covered in the Windows controllers tab, very easy setup this way. But the Logitech software allows complete programming and multiple key macros in 3 setups for the 3 modes, allowing for a lot of keys at the touch of a button and turn of a dial. Although I have found using only one setup works for everything, but the hard core flight simmers are loving this J/S. The components are of very high quality and the sensors are magnetic so there is no grinding of plastic/metal parts, making for a long product life.

[The only CON: I don't like the constant movement of the two trim wheels and had to make a dead zone to stop them altering the aircraft in flight by themselves, and they still make the trim wheels in the cockpit move erratically until a sweet spot is found. This has/is being discussed at length on many websites including anything related to Logitech yet they still will not address the issue which is Firmware related!]

But this trim wheel ‘issue’ is still not a good reason to not try this HOTAS as I am enjoying the product and feel that it was money well spent. IMO much better than the X56.

Have been using this HOTAS system for FS9, Falcon BMS, LOMAC (Flaming cliffs 2), EECH and IL2. Works great with all of them. Easy to customise, and the buttons on the whole are very tactile. Only gripes are some buttons aren't within easy reach, e.g. pickle button under flip cover, and the slider on the throttle body is not as high quality as the rest of the unit. On the whole though definitely recommend it for any virtual fighter pilot.

The mode rotary switch on the joy side seems to be faulty out of the box causing erratic behaviour in all games and even overriding my mouse in Windows !. Currently on a very slow journey with Logitech support that respond on the most part with copy paste replies despite all the information I am giving them. Best case , they repair and return this item , I will sell it straight away and look to another brand for a replacement. Avoid.

Works great, materials are nice and feels sturdy, great for flying in Elite Dangerous!

Comfortable and ergonomic. It's quite minimalistic which can be both a positive and negative depending on your play style and what you play. The unit itself is for my purpose fantastic with one smallish caveat; the throttle indent (slows throttle at >25% or <75%) needs to be removed for full range smooth throttle transition which will most likely void the warranty. My only real gripe is with the Logitech software, it's counter intuitive and buggy and honestly compared to the unit itself is a huge let down. Why wear a nice suit if your going to leave your shirt untucked Logitech-

Good day All, Ian here with quick look at the Logitech Pro Flight X52 H.O.T.A.S Which is ,hands on throttle and stick, and this does live up to it, I used on the game elite dangerous and DBS word flight sim , and my game experience improved 100% the game became much more fun and easier to play. The unit itself came well packed and the look and feel on it is of a premium piece of kit .all metal switchs on the stick and mode dial, a 2 spring system unlike it little brother the x52 non pro, are great a touch, if your thinking about your 1st H.O.T.A.S. you could not go wrong with this one instead of it little brother the x52, the only competition to this is the Logitech x56 dual throttle unit or Thustmaster warthog witch are both more expensive than this unit. Setup was as easy as pluging the two units in with supplied cable to each other and then into the pc via Usb 2.0 , there was no lag in the system move the stick and throttle ,using the buttons all seam to happen onscreen at the same time. The games I tested it on had control profiles setup for this unit already done, as it is actually a rebranding of the Saitek X52 Hotas (Logitech bought out Saitek some time ago) they did really change anything as when it works ,leave it alone. All up one of my new favourites , tough enough for many years of game play, it gets A++++ (my second highest rank) from me , the only down side was the bases need something more to stop slippage on desks , it not bad ,but they do move a little bit.., thank for reading , game on guys, Ian, Out

The X52 Flight control system is well worth the money. Brilliant for flight simulators and games like Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen. Easy to set up and program the buttons and feels just right when using it. Can't recommend it enough 10/10

Excellent product, expensive but have found it worth it.

Quality product, feels very solid, bundled software works great. Have used an x52 (not a pro) in the past and I reckon this is worth the extra money for the improved build quality.

Many buttons, good axis. great for flight games.

So far so good. The X52 Pro has both good and not so good reviews so time will tell but as for mightyape, well they were fantastic

Love playing flight Sims and space Sims so much more now

Bought it for Elite Dangerous. Great feel and control. Solid build and smooth action. I definitely recommend the X52 Pro.

Nice HOTAS controller. Full sized. Realistic. Well manufactured. Easy driver download and install. Everything works well. Recommended. After trying this one …very interested in upgrading to X55 RHINO.

Bought this for my son. His words were ‘fantastic for playing E D, but only 4 stars because you should definitely not use Saitek drivers for this product with this game.’ He uses Win 7 on my Mac via bootcamp with a usb 2 hub connected via usb 3 hub to the Mac.
