Considering the very high sound quality and features, set up is fairly easy for an intermediate user. Superb 5.1 sound. Experts told me stand alone units like this don't exist and that I'd have to spend approx $5000. Yeah right!

Hey I highly recommend this speaker system. It sure has a hell of a kick to it. Would easily compete with well known brands like Bose (my friend has one, and I would say my logitech is the same or even better than his $4000 setup). No jokes try this one out!

I listen to a lot of music in my room while studying and game a fair bit on Xbox and my gaming pc. So I was able to justify spending a large (for me) sum of money on speakers. And they blew me away. All my music sounds better and games feel a lot more ‘present’. Good full sound from all the speakers. I thought I would have to drop a grand to get sound like this so these are crazy affordable and well worth the money. Also I like that you can manually adjust the woofer level on the console which is good because I've had 2.1 systems with super heavy bass that couldn't be lowered to a reasonable level. The console also deserves a mention as its really nice to use. It lights up to display whether it's receiving a stereo or 5.1 signal, and can adjust the pairs of speakers manually. It also allows for easy switching between 6 inputs. So happy with these. They should probably be more expensive than they are. The sub is a bit large, but to be honest I don't care when it sounds as good as it does.

These are basically high-end ‘computer speakers’. Being advertised as “THX-Certified”, and with quite a hefty price tag you'd expect them to be excellent for living room use, they aren't. They reproduce the ‘cinema sound’ experience well, work great for gaming and merely okay for music, but only at a desk. The system has decent bass (sub-woofer position dependant), LOUD satellite speakers and decent sound quality, but there is a lot missing here. Being limited to a small sub-woofer and satellite speakers, there is near zero bass cross-over between the sub and satellites, and mid-range from the satellites is weak! This can be mitigated somewhat with equaliser settings and the right speaker positioning and levels however.

Pros:

• Decent number and variety of inputs
• A competent control box
• A remote that actually does everything!
• Bass that punches above its weight (to a point, see cons)
• Fairly long speaker cables
• Includes audio cable for PCs
• Easy to set-up
• Loud!

Cons:

• Terrible in a living room environment
• Suffers somewhat from the THX certification, being mostly good at film and gaming but not great for music
• Film viewing; must be ear bleedingly loud just to hear dialogue in action scenes
• Low volume listening is not good
• Sub-woofer placement is difficult due to design, making bass less impact-full and finicky
• Power button light is much brighter than the rest, I had to tape over it! Also speaker layout lights flash as sound signal stops when using digital optical audio input,
• Built in audio delay for rear speakers when on ‘3D’ sound field makes placement of rear speakers difficult for desks. I use a large corner desk and I still have issues with placement

Conclusion: Don't let the THX-Certification fool you! These are good enough as computer speakers for film or gaming, but audiophiles look elsewhere! I gave them a 4/5 as they're better than everything else in this category, but don't hold a candle to a proper, much more expensive, home-theatre system!

Hold on these were $549 cost price 2 months ago, now they're $770 discounted down to $569. Did you put the price up just to discount it- These are beyond excellent speakers which I first bought from MightyApe in 2013 for $459 and although they have now died, I was very much wanting to replace them…but these price hikes are getting silly…

I own it and the Bass is very thunderous. Plus for the price you pay, it sounds awesome. I have not been able to use it to its full potential as other people complain about it being really loud which is good as it can hold its own ground. Build quality is quite good as it does not look cheap at all. THX certification is great for this one too.

I decided to test out this speaker system by watching Transformers Age Of Extinction on Blu-ray.

This speaker system is by far the best I've ever owned before, great price when I brought it from Mighty Ape.

Watching Transformers Age Of Extinction with this system was spectacular.

My Mum had to come in the room to tell me to turn it down as it was rumbling through the house affecting Dad's head, our house is quite big so that proves it's an excellent system.

All in all I have no regrets about buying it.

If using as a TV surround system then I suggest purchasing a digital optical chord (please ensure your TV has this port first) for optimal sound quality. Ive used bluetooth also from my TV but have connection issues so this is the other best option otherwise an AUX at the very least. Awesome bass good enough for movie theatre but wouldn’t recommend for music entertainment.

Multiple listening options and volume adjustments to different speakers, mainly the front and rear ones which is great. The sub is strong, almost too strong but can be adjusted also, which is really awesome. A good pair of headphones would cost this much so this surround sound is very worth the price.

Matches the sound quality of $2k + systems. Sound is excellent, looks great and controls are great.

Excellent sound. Better than systems that cost 3 or 4 times more.

Purchased these speakers a few months ago and use them purely for my iPod. The sound quality is amazing and they go louder than I would ever need. Highly recommend this product!
