Love Hina is a very lighthearted romance/comedy. It is really enjoyable and entertaining.
Packaging: The cover art for the first volume is really colourful and it is really detailed. The inner art is composed of Madman advertisements and screenshots from the episodes. The DVD has the artwork from the front cover. Nothing really spectacular about the packaging, but the overall design is really nice looking.
Story/Characters: The storyline is quite straightforward, but yet interesting. Some people say that the character designs in the anime version of Love Hina are a “disgrace” to the original manga by Ken Akamatsu, but in my opinion I quite like them. The character designs are quite appealing. Although they are different from the manga, the designs are still quite unique in its own style.
Sound/Music: The Japanese dubbing is really well done, but the English on the other hand is a total nightmare. The English voices do not suit the characters’ personalities what so ever! Although the BGMs in this series are quite simple, they are still quite catchy. The opening and closing theme are done by Megumi Hayashibara, hence the good quality. :)
Extras: Nothing really exciting on the disk. It is mainly composed of Madman propaganda and Art gallery. It is lack of “real” extras.
Overall, Love Hina is a highly enjoyable series. It is composed of an interesting storyline, cute character designs and a suitable amount of “fan service”. I recommend it to everyone who enjoys this kind of genre!
