Description

This collection of portraits has been created in the name of Teenage Cancer Trust and predominantly features those artists who have supported the charity over the years, whether taking part in the annual Royal Albert Hall shows, visiting wards, donating a multitude of gifts from signed amps to signed sunglasses or getting involved in projects such as Love Music Love Food.

Artists new to the charity have become involved with the project and their relationship with Teenage Cancer Trust started here at Love Music Love Food. It's a great testament to Teenage Cancer Trust that these artists feel passionately about supporting the charity to the point that they'll be smothered in Marmite, have their knees nibbled by sheep, cuddle chickens or get pelted with Dayglo cupcakes to help make a difference. We salute and thank you for being a part of this project. Dig in to the food that makes the stars shine – starring Brett Anderson, Johnny Borrell, Buzzcocks, Biffy Clyro, Roger Daltrey CBE, Brandon Flowers, Noel Gallagher, Ellie Goulding, Professor Green, Mick Hucknall, Kelly Jones, Alex Kapranos, Kasabian, Juliette Lewis, Madness, Mani, Brian May, Paul Oakenfold, Sir Cliff Richard, Francis Rossi OBE, Siouxsie Sioux, Sugababes, Tinie Tempah, Bullet For My Valentine, White Lies, We Are Scientists, Paul Weller, Rob Zombie & many more.

Author Biography

Photographs by Patrice de Villiers: Born in London, and with a degree in Photography from Manchester University, Patrice has developed a unique style and approach to food photography, which is in demand worldwide. Her first commission as a photographer was for The Sunday Times food page shooting a year-long series of food portraits, which coincided with her first cookbook being commissioned by Quadrille. Patrice works on editorial and advertising projects for an impressive range of clients, from Selfridges, fine art commissions for state of the art hotels in Las Vegas, illustrating racing driver's breakfast's for Toyota F1 magazine, to Marks & Spencer and Harper's Bazaar. Her iconic imagery is also available to buy through the Saatchi Gallery Online. Love Music Love Food is Patrice's lovechild, bringing her expertise in the world of food photography to the world of music and vice versa. It brings her beginnings, when she shot bands in Manchester, full circle. In this unique book she brings the sensual beauty of food to music – and gives gastronomy a rock and roll edge. Patrice loves tea, taking pictures of food, particularly squid and going to gigs. She lives and works just off London's Old Kent road in a converted pub with her boyfriend Ru and their son, Dylan. Interviews by Andrew Harrison: Andrew Harrison is a music and pop culture journalist who has written for Q, Mojo, GQ, The Guardian, The Face and Rolling Stone. He started writing gig reviews for the Liverpool Echo to escape working in his father's butcher's shop, and in the 1990s he edited much-loved rock monthly Select, which famously coined the term ‘Britpop’. He is presently Editor-at-Large at The Word, the much-acclaimed music magazine for grown-ups. Andrew has interviewed U2, Madonna, the Wu Tang Clan, Stephen Fry, Samuel L Jackson and more pop stars than he can remember. In the course of duty he has had his car insulted by Morrissey, he's taken numerous highly strung telephone calls from Courtney Love, and he once joined rave legends Altern 8 onstage in Cologne where he was forced to climb up and down a ladder during the entire show for ‘atmosphere’. He now lives in North London with his wife, a cat and a 40,000-song iTunes music library. Favourite food: Homemade sausages. Recipes by Sarah Muir: Sarah Muir has cooked for bands, artists and their crews for more than 20 years, travelling the world with some of the most fantastic music and people including Bob Dylan, Radiohead, George Michael, The Prodigy and Oasis. Life on the road with bands can be a wild time, but it's always filled with fun and laughter. Giving that up was not a decision Sarah took lightly, but in 2009 she had the idea to bring her worldwide cooking experiences, passion and knowledge for food back home to Yorkshire to develop a cookery school that offered that special element of rock and roll. Arches Cookery School was born and is successfully delivering inspired cookery courses all year round. Find out more at www.archescookeryschool.co.uk Favourite food: Oysters.
