Max's Kansas City was a legendary hive of creativity in the mid-70's New York City scene. First notorious as a hang-out for the Warhol/Factory set, it had a second lease of life in 1976. Warhol stalwart Wayne County returned to be the club DJ and the seeds of the fledgling NYC punk scene germinated at Max's in tandem with CBGBs, as documented in this ‘Max's Kansas City 1976’ compilation. Now reissued and vastly extended to 40 tracks by Max's musical director Peter Crowley. Extensive 20-page booklet with notes by Peter Crowley and Jimi Lalumia
