An expert veterinarian has been sent to Australia to study the whole problem and report. It is noteworthy that in spite of this action of the Govern ment, the price of the cheaper grade of meat is considerably lower than it was before, said to be due in part to the fact that there was an oversupply of the meat on the market about that time, and also to the fact that people are learning to use frozen meat. Although it is desirable that cattle should be imported from many countries, it is essential that the Philippine Islands should be protected from the introduction of any further contagious diseases.
