As a seasoned Metroid and Super Metroid player, I bought a 3DS console mainly to play Samus Returns and Zelda Ocarina of Time. I had low expectations of these epic games on a little 3DS console. But Samus Returns is a complete platform game with clear graphics, background details, and big sound effects. There are lots of new elements in the game to sustain the interest of seasoned players but with lots of references that bring back fond memories of the classic predecessors.
Excellent visuals and use of the 3D effect. Intuitive controls and beautiful environments. Great soundtrack!
