In Motorsiege, you race on vehicles called "Skimmers" that are extremely maneuverable. The elevation off the ground can be controlled, allowing you to go over obstacles instead of around them. However, you have to stay close to the ground to go fast. You can also throw the skimmer into a powerslide that allows you to face a different direction the you are moving, allowing you to shoot in one direction while traveling in another. This driving model lends itself well to exciting combat. Motorsiege sports a flexible parts-oriented vehicle system. You earn money by doing well in the various game events, and then use that money to upgrade your vehicle. The upgrades do more than increase a number in some stats screen - they can drastically change the look and performance of the players vehicle. Most combat racing games offer Deathmatch as their only gameplay mode, whereas Motorsiege focuses on Siege mode (a variant of Capture The Flag) and offers a number of other enjoyable competitive play modes, such as Fox-and-Hound, Hunter/Hunted and Deathmatch.
