Description

Author and etiquette maven Anna Post demonstrates that President Obama is more than our political leadera hea s also a worthy role model when it comes to good manners. The perfect graduation title. In "Mr. Manners: Lessons from Obama on Civility," author and etiquette maven Anna Post demonstrates that President Obama is more than our political leader--he's also a worthy role model when it comes to good manners. His intelligence and good looks notwithstanding, there's no doubt President Obama's courteousness played a significant role in his swift and historic rise to the highest office in the land. In "Mr. Manners," Post breaks down the president's manners, from the slightest kind gesture to the grandest of considerate deeds, and shows how we can apply such thoughtfulness in our own daily lives. With photography capturing President Obama committing everyday acts of civility and complemented by Post's fun yet authoritative commentary, "Mr. Manners" graciously reinforces the case that Emily Post and her descendants have been making for decades: courtesy is in our nation's best interest."

Author Biography

Anna Post, Emily Post's great-great-granddaughter, is spokesperson for The Emily Post Institute and the author of "Do I Have to Wear White? Emily Post Answers America's Top Wedding Questions" and "Emily Post's Wedding Parties: Smart Ideas for Stylish Parties, From Engagement to Reception and Everything in Between." Giving advice on modern etiquette dilemmas is Anna's specialty, making her a popular source for media outlets such as USA Today, the New York Times, the Wall Street Journal, O, the Oprah Magazine, and the Huffington Post, among many others. Anna currently lives in Burlington, Vermont. The Emily Post Institute, created by Emily in 1946 and run today by third-generation family members, serves as a "civility barometer" for American society and continues Emily's work. That work has grown to address the societal concerns of the 21st century including business etiquette, rearing polite children, and civility in America. Online: www.emilypost.com
