"Absolutely stunning film"

If you love Shakespeare, you will love this film. If you love Joss Whedon, you will love this film. If you love romance, or comedy, you will love this film. I love Much Ado, it is my favourite Shakespearean play, and I am picky about the way it is done. However, this is an exceptional version. I saw this at the Film Fest and have been waiting on tenterhooks for the DVD ever since. Buy this DVD. For yourself, a loved one, whoever. Buy it. And then watch it. You will love it.

Description

Much Ado About Nothing: A Film by Joss Whedon

Joss Whedon's Much Ado About Nothing is a 2012 American comedy drama movie produced, written for the screen and directed by Joss Whedon – a modern retelling of William Shakespeare's play of the same name.

The film stars Amy Acker (Angel, Dollhouse), Alexis Denisof (Buffy, Angel, Dollhouse), Nathan Fillion (Firefly, Serenity, Castle), Clark Gregg (The Avengers), Fran Kranz (Cabin in the Woods, Dollhouse) and Sean Maher (Firefly, Serenity).

Shakespeare knew how to throw a party…

Using the original text, adapted by Joss Whedon, the story of sparring lovers Beatrice (Acker) and Benedick (Denisof) offers a dark, sexy, funny and occasionally absurd view of the intricate game that is love.

Leonato, the governor of Messina, is visited by his friend Don Pedro, who is returning from a victorious campaign against his rebellious brother Don John. Accompanying Don Pedro are two of his officers: Benedick and Claudio.Claudio falls for Leonato's daughter Hero, while Benedick verbally spars with Beatrice, the governor's niece. A series of comic and tragic events looks like it may keep the two couples from truly finding happiness…but then again, perhaps love will indeed prevail in the end?

  • " Loose, enjoyable, and sparkling, it's a movie that lives for the sound of clinking wine glasses and snappy patter. " – Jason Bailey
  • " Four hundred years later, the playwright's powerful, beautiful, utterly sincere thoughts and emotions continue to affect us. " – David Walsh
