Author Biography:

Dr. D. has been an elementary school teacher and administrator, reading consultant, and college professor of education and English. Her doctorate is in early childhood education. She has worked with teachers and is especially concerned about the pressures that young students face in this era of high stakes testing. She also is a lover of books, writing, and children. She lives in Sarasota, Florida, with her husband and two fun loving dogs, Max and Oliver. In the summer she lives on an island in New England close to Boston.
