I'd been hunting for a baby book as good as the one I had been gifted for son #2 and I'd given up finding one that was as nice. So I came to MA and had a look through the baby record books available here. I purchased based on cover image, and the number of pages as there was very little info available and I was disheartened by how hard it was to choose. But I was absolutely blown away when the book arrived today as it's just beautiful and it sent my pregnancy hormones into a spin! I am so very happy with it.

What the advert didn't tell me:

Firstly, it's a very nicely weighted book, it feels solid and substantial in your hands, and the weight of the pages is lovely, they feel like they will last really well. The pages are thick semi-matte card and feel smooth and luxurious. There are plenty of pages, with spaces for images, as well as pockets for the little ‘extras’ you will collect along the way.

The book is spiral bound inside, so lays flat for reading and writing in and the pages feel very firmly attached. And on the outside, the spiral binding is completely hidden by the old fashioned feeling taped edging which is gorgeous! There is also an elastic band which holds the book closed when not in use.

The cover is gently padded and feels velvety smooth, the card used is divine.

Inside, the pages are seperated by divider sections and the colours are soft and gentle. The dividers make it super easy to find the relevant section and there are multiple pocket pages as well as so many of the pages are decorated with beautiful photographs and images relevant to the page topics. Because the pages are nice and thick you don't have to worry about writing in them as the next page won't be affected. The sections of the book are very relevant too, so you don't have to worry about what you should be recording as it prompts you the whole way through, asking all the important questions and giving you lots of space to answer them as well as spaces to include photos of your own.

The only thing that this book is missing, is that the one I was gifted came with a set of acid-free photo dots which were invaluable, but that's not a huge deal however if you get one of these, it's a good idea to pick up some of those dots as I found them fantastic. They are removeable, quick and clean to use and you can even use them with a toddler around as there is no mess or fuss with them. So particularly if you get this as a gift for a pregnant friend/family member, don't forget to purchase photo dots!!!
