This adds to Hayao Miyazaki's great collection of classics. Brilliantly coloured film with great connection to what kids love to see…cats which morph into buses and giant ambiguous animals. Awesome

Funny and amusing, Totoro is a wonderful character who appears and disappears while looking out for the children in this film. Gorgeous animation, fun characters and a lovely story!

We stumbled across the Studio Ghibli movies by reading a review that rated Totoro as “the best family movie of all time.” We find that even children who will not sit still for a Disney film are captivated by this movie, and it suits all audiences.

Sick of scmaltzy, patronising Hollywood ‘Family’ movies- This charming movie took us by surprise, a genuinely lovely story for kids of all ages.

A true animated classic ! I recently purchased Totoro for my daughter (although boys would love it too) and she has watched it over and over. It's refreshing to see two main female characters that are not princesses. The animation is stunning and the detail is such that you notice something different in scenes each time you watch it. Very catchy title songs as well.

Great family movie for all ages – a story of wonder and imagination that follows 2 young girls who vacation in the country while their mother recuperates at a nearby hospital. Multiple watchings just make this better over time. Outstanding for the really young right on through to great grandparents.

One of the greatest Studio Ghibli creations. This one is definetly a classic. The animations are cute and simple and the storyline is great for people of any age. There are many great characters in this movie like Neko bus and Totoro. The Japanese music is great and this is an all round awesome movie.

I hadn't ever heard of Totoro when I bought this. I thought, hey, I'll buy it, it's done by the same person basically that had done Howl's Moving Castle and Spirited away. I bought it, watched it once, that was it.

It probably is a touching story, but I feel it doesn't dwell enough into it to really pull at your heartstrings for me to like it. It's very short and at the end it seems blunt and almost rushed.

On the other side, good animation and cultural differences make up for the short side of the film. The backgrounds are amazing and the character development is something to expect from Miyazaki

Good for one watch, but not as timeless and classic as Spirited Away by any means.

This is a great introduction to the wonderful world of animation that is Studio Ghibli, a lovely film for all the family. It is the story of two little girls, whose mother is ill in hospital, who enter the magical world of Totoro, their giant, mystical neighbour, who looks something like an enormous cat (or bear-). The quiet humour and happy ending make this a fun movie for all ages.

A classic Studio Ghibli movie, great characters and plot centred around two young sisters coping with a mother's illness and the imaginary world it leads them into.

Excellent movie from Studio Ghibli, suit any age, our 3 year old loves it. Beautiful animation as usual with Ghibli movies.

My family just loves this dvd. After many borrowings from the video store we have bought our own copy. A beautiful story with a touch of sadness but suitable for young children. No violence. If you like Ponyo you will also like My Neighbour Totoro.

My favourite Hayao Miazaki movie.

The voice acting is brilliant whether you listen to it in English or Japanese, and it's visually beautiful with a soundtrack that enhances the experience.

Wonderful, I'd recommend it for anyone who wants to watch an animated movie with friends and family :)

Although it never really manages to capture the same magic as Spirited Away or Nausicaa, My Neighbor Totoro is still a beautiful, well told story.

Told from the point of view of two sisters, it manages to portray a childlike sense of wonder at the world very nicely, and creates enough drama to keep the story interesting the whole way through.

Easily recommendable and worth a watch.

This movie is a must see for young children because of its light hearted story. This was a blind buy for me but was much enjoyed. For those with kids I would highly recommend this for a a bit of fun and pass time.

Buy it if you've got the money to spend.
