Author Biography

The author, Julie Tanser is a child of the'60s. Growing up in the suburbs of Queens, her family picked up and moved to the East Village during the time of Bob Dylan, Jimmy Hendrix, Janice Joplin, The Doors, Judy Collins, Joan Baez, and Woodstock. What a different life! "The Hippies Revolution". Laid back & Cool were "In". The world was your oyster . You were free to make YOUR choices. If you didn't like your job, no problem. You left and moved on. She met amazing people who influenced how she saw life. There was tremendous diversity and a variety of lifestyles, along with a tremendous freedom to be you. To give an example, she worked as a bookkeeper, in a dog grooming salon, print production, waitressing, selling encyclopedias, a corporate desk job, film editing both in N.Y. and LA, and reading scripts for William Morris Agency, (Whew - how diversified can you get?) Her books are filled with inspiration, humor, insight, and wisdom that did not always come without regret and sorrow. Hindsight is not always easy.
