A worthwhile flick that explores the vampire legend, it has a cool soundtrack (by Tangerine Dream – very similar to Firestarter), and some good acting from very familiar faces. While it is still a B-movie, it is directed with skill and flair, and there's enough gore and action to keep the pace running swiftly from start to finish. Bill Paxton makes a great nasty dude, and Adrian Pasdar's performance is very human and un-heroic, which is refreshing! If you're into vampires, check this one out! Although made the same year as “The Lost Boys”, this one is not in the same pop-horror box at all.
