This book concludes with lessons especially interesting to girls. Chapters on cookery, clothing, nursing, and domestic management, are interspersed with poetical extracts, stimulating womanly feelings. To these have been added some simple receipts, likely to be useful in the management of a household; for, although not strictly belonging to a Reading - Book, such knowledge will materially add to the comfort of a family; and it is desirable that girls, before leaving school, should possess such elementary information on domestic matters as will fit them to enter on the practical duties of life belonging to their sex - prepared to minister to the comforts and happiness of home.
