Season one blew me away with it's sublte (and sometimes not-so-sublte) humour so there was no doubt I was going to miss out on this one! A definite must-have for any New Girl fan. If you know anyone who hasn't seen the first season yet do it, do it now!
This Zooey Deschanel fronted show is ‘The odd couple’ remixed via a post-millennial/post-noughties milieu‽ Nick (Jake Johnson) plays the audience's lens of traditional ‘the tough guy/male hero’ routines, while Winston (Lamorne Morris), Cece (Hannah Simone), and Schmidt (Max Greenfield) represent the various paradigms from metro-gender style efforts of a western world trying to work out being truly equal in terms of ethnicity, class, and gender. ‘New Girl’ is about exposing the games we all play in society while still maintaining the illusion that we are all playing “this game called society”. The show is known for allowing the writers and actors to be quite free-form and trying out unusual angles on the script and performances; the result maybe “shock of the new” for some viewers, and comedy genius for other's.

Taking a modern look at friendship and romance, breakout comedy New Girl returns for its second season with all-new exploits of a smart, spirited and single young woman, her three male roommates and her beautiful best friend.
This season, after Jess (Zooey Deschanel) gets laid off from her teaching job, she re-evaluates her life and career and immediately makes some dubious choices along the way – working alongside jaded cocktail waitress (guest star Parker Posey), jumping into a sex-only relationship with a handsome Lothario (recurring guest star David Walton) and attempting to bond with her younger neighbours by using 80s humour.
Also this season, Nick (Jake Johnson) is dumbfounded when he gets a visit from his future self, Winston (Lamourne Morris) must answer to his disapproving mother and basketball star sister, Schmidt (Max Greenfi eld) panics at the thought of getting old and then becomes jealous when Cece (Hannah Simone) starts dating the anti-Schmidt.
