She co-developed the first commercially successful multimedia, interactive digital textbook that established the standard for platforms now being developed by numerous educational publishers. In addition to authoring textbooks for Course Technology and Cengage, Dr. Parsons' career includes extensive classroom teaching and product design for eCourseware. She also served as a creative strategist for MediaTechnics Corp. and director of content for Veative Virtual Reality Labs. A member of the Association for Computing Machinery, she holds a Ph.D. in instructional technology and Certified Computing Professional certification. Lisa Ruffolo has served as a technical writer and editor for more than 30 years. She is pursuing an emphasis in operating systems and digital literacy. She has edited top-selling books in the fields of introduction to computing, Microsoft Office, PC repair and computer programming. Over the past 25 years, Robin M. Romer has focused on writing and editing books about computing, including computer applications, Web design and development, and service desks. In 2001, Robin sold her successful imprint, Acada Books, to return to her roots and concentrate on hands-on writing and editing. She has authored and contributed to more than 30 books and edited more than 50 titles. An esteemed professional and respected author, Dan Oja, along with June Parsons, purchased an Apple II+ in 1981 and quickly became fluent in BASIC, dBASE II, Lotus 123, WordStar, and a variety of accounting programs. The next year, he and Dr. Parsons opened a successful small computer retail store that offered software instruction to children and adults. With Dr. Parsons, Mr. Oja began writing and creating educational software for Course Technology in 1992. Dr. Mark Shellman is an instructor and the Chair of the Information Technology Department at Gaston College in Dallas, North Carolina. Dr. Mark, as his students refer to him, prides himself on being student-centered and loves learning himself. His favorite subjects in the information technology realm include databases and programming languages. Dr. Mark has been teaching information technology for more than thirty years and has co-authored several texts in the New Perspectives Series on Microsoft� Access databases. A leading textbook author, lecturer and instructor, Patrick Carey has authored or co-authored more than 40 popular academic and trade texts for the academic market. She has more than 30 years of experience as a developmental editor and co-author of books, journal articles and multimedia in a variety of fields, including computer science, mathematics, history, engineering and social sciences. She holds a master�s degree in English from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Katherine T. Pinard has more than 25 years of experience writing and editing books about computer concepts, applications, and technology. She has co-authored or contributed to more than 20 successful books and has edited or managed more than 60 titles. She is MOS certified in Word and PowerPoint. Sasha Vodnik is a programmer, instructional designer, and trainer. They have authored or co-authored textbooks on front-end topics including HTML, CSS, and XML, and have also written and presented several online courses for advanced JavaScript developers. Sasha currently works as a technical course developer at DocuSign, where they focus on creating training materials for software developers.
