"So good that I bought two!"
5 stars"

I never touched a DS before buying the Lite. I became interested when my 7yr old son and 5yr old daughter wanted a puppy, (Hello Nintendogs!), and when Brain Training came out.

I love playing fun, educational, and stimulating games – we own a PS2 and an Xbox360. But I must say, my favourite “gaming” machine is the DS Lite. It has soo many fun and different games. First I bought Nintendogs, then Brain Training, then Animal Crossing (my wife is addicted!), then Mario Kart, then Advance Wars, then Tony Hawks, then, then… I think we have over 10 games and most of them are excellent value and fun. (A couple didn't last that long – or were boring – but that is what the 7 day returns is all about…)

We ended up buying two – because we used it so much – and this opened up a world of multiplayer value. The wifi connection is free!!! (Unlike Xbox live…) All I can say is that I am now a Nintendo fan – and looking forward to the Wii… all because of my love affair with the DS Lite.

By the way – I convinced my 19 year old nephew to buy this – and now he is addicted to Meteroid Prime. It really is good value for money.

"I have seen the lite!!!"

Purchased on Mighty Ape

The Nintendo DS lite is a big, nay, HUGE leap in terms of design, aesthetics, and comfortability. Clean lines, glossy finish, and sturdiness are just some of the features you will notice when you get your mitts on one. It feels better in your hands compared to the original DS but will feel to small in big hands. You may need to slightly adjust your grip on the machine. I could say more but you will have to find out for yourself.

"some superlitive"
5 stars"

You shouldn't be reading this because you should be out buying one RIGHT NOW! This console is absolutely brilliant Nintendo couldn't have done better, Though do make sure that you get e newer model as the older DS Lite's had a manufacturing fault. I would highly recommend you get a Nintendo DS Lite. Nintendo have really done it this time.

"Brilliant!"

I wasn't going to get caught like I did with the Gameboy Advance, so I didn't buy an original DS. I have now bought a DS Lite and have been very impressed with its performance. The screens are much better and brighter (even on the lowest setting) than my Gameboy Advance SP. It is great to play Gameboy Advance games on, but I am a little disappointed that it is not further backwards compatible. It is very easy to use and the touchscreen makes it quite novel for those who don't usually play games. It doesn't feel as sturdy as my SP but I might be a little overprotective because its new. My only massive complaint is that I wish I had waited two days so I could order a black one.

"I agree with everyone"

I own the regular DS, but the DS Lite has longer battery life and brighter screens which is good because the only other way to improve the original DS would have been to have higher resolution screens and a more powerful graphics processor.

Anyone who buys this should pick up Mario Kart, Nintendogs and Animal Crossing at the same time, and if money allows it New Super Mario Bros and Tetris DS as well.

Those are the games I own that make the DS worth owning.

Trauma Center is a great example of a handheld game that can only really be played on the DS, as is Metroid Prime Hunters.

Metroid Prime Hunters has the best graphics on the DS, but that's not really relevant here because what the DS does really really well is have a good selection of indispensable games.

My favourite DS game is Phoenix Wright:Ace Attorney. Actually it's one of my favourite games off all time on ANY system.

The game that totally sold me on the DS was Nintendogs.

One more thing, the loading times on the DS are UNBELIEVABLE.

Mario Kart loads on the DS in UNDER 30 SECONDS from system power off to power on. My PSP takes that long just to start spinnning up the game disc.
