Aften Brook Szymanski (1981- still kicking) was born in Twin Falls, Idaho. She graduated from BYU in Provo, UT with a BS. Aften has always loved words and writing, and the fact that the initials to her degree have a double meaning is not lost to her sense of humor. She went on to obtain her M.Ed in low vision services for special education from the University of Utah, the arch rivals of BYU-Provo and created a one of a kind blanket honoring both schools, each side highlighting one school, to take to football games. Sadly very few devoted BYU/UofU fans appreciate the dicotamy as she does. Aften now lives with her husband and three spirited children near Afton, WY. She laughs every time someone gets confused with her name and the local town.
