Have now watched seasons 1–3 and am hanging out for season four…have just heard they are making a fifth season…yeahy! ! Bring it on
As a series my wife was watching I found it well worth watching, not just a from a auther known as writer of womens books but a story that is quite graphic and bloodthirsty at times.
I was pleasantly surprised that S3 was far better than I had feared despite frantic scene flipping that reminded me of a slide format; the book is too long to fit 5 DVD discs. The script writers succumb to the usual confusion between Yanklish and British English although not as foolishly as in S2. The very worst clanger was in completely bowdlerising the character of Mr. Willoughby in that annoying way Americans can patronise a character by applying political correctness. The book Mr. W. Is an intelligent and complex character in great pain from being alienated from his land and culture. The show Mr. W. Is Disneyfied into a saintly cliche who saves the day by preaching kind of pseudo sermon. The script writers get around the uncomfortable fact that Chinese gentlemen until fairly recently fancied sniffing bound feet by relocating the fetish to licking elbows.
Outlander: The Complete Third Season
What if your future was the past?
The third season of Outlander picks up right after Claire travels through the stones to return to her life in 1948. Now pregnant, she struggles with the fallout of her sudden reappearance and its effect on her marriage to her first husband, Frank. Meanwhile, in the 18th century, Jamie suffers from the aftermath of his doomed last stand at the historic battle of Culloden, as well as the loss of Claire. As the years pass, Jamie and Claire attempt to make lives apart from one another, each haunted by the memory of their lost love. Separated by continents and centuries, Claire and Jamie must find their way back to each other. As always, adversity, mystery and adventure await them, and the question remains: When they find each other, will they be the same people who parted at the standing stones all those years ago?
