Outrageous Fortune is the best New Zealand drama screened today. It promotes real-life situations and struggles. It is a show that most people can relate to, whether it has happened to you or someone else. There's no other show that deals with day-to-day life.
Great characters! Great settings! Great stoylines! Don't let this show come to an end!
Cheryl, Wolf, Ted, Van, Jethro, Pascalle & Loretta West are the disfuntional family we all love! We see Cheryl's decision to “go straight” after Wolf gets sent to prison and the impact is has on the lives of the rest of the family. This is a great TV series and the characters are all so easily related to.
Amazing show, I got it for my sister for her birthday. May have been slightly for me tho. The script writing is amazing and the acting is terrific. Buy this season to see where it all began.

We rubbished this series right back at the beginning and only started watching it towards the very end, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Classic Kiwi Inginuity. Totally stoked and will be buying all other series as soon as we can.

I brought this after hearing about it too see what the fuss was all about. Now im addicted, this show has it all, drama, action, laughter and leaves you sitting on the edge of your seat wanting more. Now just to buy the other seasons..

This is an amazing series to come out of NZ. The West family and their antics will make you laugh, cry and most definitely cringe. You will love some family members and hate some – there might be some that you could compare to your own family! Filled with controversy and emotion, this is a series where you will find yourself staying up at night just to finish the entire season! Once you watch this one you will waste no time in purchasing the rest of the series. Mighty Ape is selling this for the cheapest price that I know of so take advantage and enjoy this already Kiwi Classic.
This is a classic New Zealand series, filled with relatable characters and some really good laughs.
What males this a must-buy it that the outstanding writing elevates it into an unforgettable drama as well. Each episode has a Shakespearean title which closely matches the theme and major conflicts. In this initial series, the characters are thrown into a new world when the family matriarch sets them on the straight and narrow.
Part of the charm is that everyone seems to know someone just like Sheryl, Wolf, Pascalle, or Munter!
Definitely essential viewing.
