Kimberly Rae trains and writes on fighting human trafficking. When she speaks, especially when she connects adult victimization with childhood sexual abuse, women often come up to her afterward and tell their stories - some who have never told anyone before. It is a deep grief to her that so many woman have kept their deepest hurts secret and felt shame over something that was not their fault, is not their sin, and should never be their secret burden to bear. She longs to help women understand their great, great worth to God, to know that they are beautiful and valued and worthwhile, and that God wants a future and a hope for them! Though she most often writes Christian suspense novels on fighting human trafficking, or non-fiction books on living joyfully despite chronic illness (she has Addison's disease, asthma, hypoglycemia, and Ehlers-Danlos syndrom), she believes Overcomer might be the most important project she has ever done. "The stories I received for this book broke me. There is such deep evil in the world, so many people suffering in secret all around us.
