Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 (Red Edition) reviews

If you don't own this game – why not- The 1st Legacy version of the original base game is quite simply, fantastic! The campaign is intense almost from the 1st month, but come February… Rules change, diseases mutate, characters abilities are enhanced or inhibited, cities become unstable and may eventually descend into utter chaos. Your team need to work and plan very carefully together otherwise the game will devour you. There are many ways to win and equally as many ways in which the game can trip you up. Tip: DON'T try to avoid permanently changing the game or the true experience of this game will be lost.

Pandemic in general is a super 5/5 great game, it's really easy to learn and play without to much hassle and it's an awesome co-op strategy game. The only reason that I haven't marked it as 4/5 instead of 5/5 is that, as marketed it comes with an awesome campaign (unlike the regular Pandemic), however this campaign is designed to only be played through ONCE. The rules call for permanently altering parts of the game (eg. putting stickers on the game board, ripping up/destroying characters and other cards, etc.). After this the game fundamentally changes for future use. It's a really cool concept, but I wish there was an option to play the campaign without making the permanent changes. The fix I came up with was to keep notes of how all each game of the campaign went as a reminder instead of using the stickers, so far it's working pretty well. Overall, it's a great game with a really cool campaign.

We're half way through this and it's constantly changing, becoming more challenging and building a story. If you enjoy Pandemic, or campaign games, this is a must. I purchased this and season 2 from Mighty Ape for a little more than the cost of one of them from most retailers. I have bought a lot of games here and will continue to do do in the future.

So far it has been far more enjoyable to play than the regular Pandemic board game. However, you need to have a regular group to play this with otherwise, it is hard to remember what happened and the new rules which come into play.

An AWESOME board game.So much FUN! and challenging with much thinking and strategy required too. It changes as the 12 Jan-Dec months of the game are played. I note it is the Number 1 Ranked Game in the World out of 89,000 board games as per Boardgamegeek.com rankings!So needless to say it is an absolute essential for everybody's Board Game collection

We are about 3 games deep right now and already things are getting a little hectic. Pandemic Legacy starts of like regular legacy but has gameplay that evolves as you play more games by adding new rules and variants. The anticipation that builds when you reach new milestones can get intense. A great addition to my collection but not sure what will happen once we reach the end of the campaign. Definitely recommended for fans of pandemic.
