Easy to learn, lots of fun, and can be very strategic. So far, no game has been the same. Love how you can be in minus points too, if you're not filling up your board sufficiently by the end of the game.

Great game, would have been nice to have actual buttons for the tokens.
Lovely art, simple gameplay, clever game mechanic. Two players only. Recommended! Family friendly. Probably ages 7 up.
I would liken it to a variation of tetris, not just because it has tetrominoes, but because you are competing with your other player for shared pieces, but it's up to you as to how you place them on your own board. This jigsaw mechanic satisfies the puzzler in us all while maintaining strong competitive play. Set-up is nice and simple, which makes it great for a quick evening game.
On the surface, Patchwork is a simple concept. Create a patchwork quilt using polyomino shapes each costing the games points and currency, buttons. The winner is the player with the most buttons. However; the added complexity of time, player position, difficult shapes and button management make this a very deep and enjoyable game indeed. With a relatively short playtime of 30 minutes or so and a low intensity, it's a great game to pull out on a quiet afternoon with a friend. Despite its complexity, young children (6+) can also enjoy this game, even if its teaming up with a parent. There is no required reading, simple addition and subtraction, and the bright colours, shapes and subject matter make it enjoyable for all.
Our whole family has enjoyed this game. Its really simple to learn the rules and it has a great balance of strategy and luck as you try and fit the pieces on your player board. I highly recommend it.
This game can be as competitive or as relaxed as the players want it to be. I have had so much fun playing this with my girlfriend. It is a simple game with a whole lot of strategy that can be put into it. Both players can get a sense of achievement from playing the game, and it gives both a great platform to spend time with each other. If you're looking for a game to play with your significant other, this is the game for you.
As a two played game, this works well, with things becoming more frenetic as you get closer to the end of the game and both you and your adversary trying to fill up as much board space as possible. The strategy is simple but has surprising depth and the game is easy to play and finish in 15 minutes or so. The newer game from Uwe, Cottage Garden, appears to be an upgrade on this, and has several other mechanics although the principle seems quite similar.
