"'If it ain't broke don't fix it'"
5 stars"

Too many game companies' feel they need to tinker around the edges, or flat-out completely change, the latest game in a series. And while it's necessary to up-date I don't see the point in changing successive games so much that the only thing they have in common is the series' name – I'm looking at you ‘Final Fantasy’. However, amidst all these ‘changes for change's sake’ it's a relief to see that the Persona series has remained true to its ideals. When we purchase a Persona we know exactly what we're getting; beautiful cell-shaded graphics, turn-based combat and of course The Velvet Room. In fact, Persona 5 has gone as far as to re-introduce a couple of original ideas, using ranged weapons and negotiating with enemies brings back fond memories. The busy life of a student is once again captured perfectly in Persona 5 – but this time we're not shooting ourselves in the head.

"Best game this generation"
5 stars"

Good story with a balance of a setting of Persona 3 and 4 comes Persona 5 set in Tokyo. Put 120 hours plus into this game is the best the generation and by that there is no DLC content in those hours I put into this. OST and the dungeon design were amazingly well done made you feel like you were infiltrating a base. The cell shading that supports the theme of the game and battle system is top notch if it ain't broke don't fix it. Persona series has been amazing since the PS2 era and has been upping its game with every entry. Took the crown from Final Fantasy series a long time ago which has lost it's touch quite sometime ago. Persona 5 is a game that I highly recommend.

"My game of the year for 2017"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

This game absolutely floored me, everything from the music to the aesthetics is perfect down to the last detail. This game absolutely oozes style, evidenced by the killer animated opening. This is a very long JRPG, and I wouldn't recommend it for newcomers to the genre because it can be pretty overwhelming, but fans of the genre are guaranteed to find an incredible experience in Persona 5. I loved the story and characters, the premise is extremely relatable, and the catharsis of taking on seemingly untouchable and powerful villains to reveal their misdeeds to the world is unlike any other game I've played. This game will keep you motivated for the entirety of its 90 hour story, and you will love every second of it.

"Absolutely incredible"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

Everything in this game has been produced to such a high standard. The graphics are stunning and clean to the point where even the menu screens are so interesting to look at. The music is so amazing and it compliments the fight sequences and story beats perfectly. The story of the game is gut-wrenching and engaging. Overall, absolutely incredible.

"JRPG Drama at it's best"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

While this is my first Persona game, I have been enjoying the many layers of gameplay within the game. The grind of most traditional JRPG's, while still there, is quick to turn over then get back to story elements

"GOAT- Maybe. Game of the year- DEFINITELY!"
5 stars"

Easily my game of the year, Even through resi 7, zelda, yakuza 0 and so much more. This still easily takes game of the year. Maybe even my favourite game of all time. Fantastic refined gameplay, Charming and relatable characters. First three dungeons are fantasticly designed, the rest are still excellent but not as good as the first three in my opinion. Bosses are daunting and memorable. Atmosphere is an absolute 5 stars, like resident evil 7, the game makes the world memorable and believable, which is very important to me. GODLY soundtrack. Beneath the mask is incredibly smooth while rivers in the desert creates insane hype. I cannot find faults to this game without looking incredibly hard. The first game in a long time to make me sink in over 100 hours and make me want to play a second playthrough. No hesitation or regret, worthwhile on every front. Take your time.

"Sequel worthy of the Persona series"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

As a JRPG enthusiast and collector, Persona 5 has easily jumped to the top of my list of favourite JRPGs. The soundtrack is memorable but not distracting, the story is intriguing, and the visuals are phenomenal. I sometimes have fun just going through the menus. Persona 5 builds on top of what works from its predecessors and manages to improve more on its successful formula. A must for anyone who enjoys JRPGs and/or for those who always wondered what living in Tokyo is like.

"Captivating and intelligent"
5 stars"

Having only played Catherine from atlus' persona styled universe I picked this up after just being recommended to have a look and I wasn't expecting to be so consumed by it. Hilarious scenarios mixed in with its dark themes, trippy environments, smooth cool music and a great combat system. If you're a fan of darker more mature anime or turn based rpgs this one's for you. Even if you're not the game still might entertain
