Description

The story behind the great comedy double-act The tale of Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, one of Britain's finest comedy double-acts, is told looking back from Moore's perspective. Following his Oscar nomination for Arthur, Moore returns home to appear on a primetime chat show. Through flashbacks and sketches the tale of the volatile comedy team is told, beginning at the beginning with Beyond The Fringe. Pete And Dud: Come Again was originally staged at the 2005 Edinburgh Festival, where it was nominated for a Fringe First. This publication coincides with the new two-act version being staged at the Venue, London, from March 2006. 'An engrossing tragicomedy about the price of talent and the true cost of laughter' Guardian Guide 'The two men are drawn superbly . . . But it is the lack of spite, the absence of revisionist vinegar that makes this show so commendable . . . An amusing, touching evening.' Daily Mail 'A riveting reminder of the humour of Cook and Moore . . . A irresistibly funny show full of cracking one-liners' London Theatre Guide
