Don't pick up the phone.
From Korean horror director Byeong-ki Ahn comes PHONE. Like RINGU and DARK WATER before it, PHONE contains what have rapidly become the standard conventions of the Asian horror film: technology as the source of terror and estrangement, a female protagonist pitted against a vengeful female ghost, and an endangered child at the center of events.
Ji-won is an investigative reporter who begins receiving a series of mysterious and increasingly threatening phone calls. She does everything possible to stop the calls, but to no avail. When her young charge answers the phone accidentally and begins shrieking in terror, it becomes apparent that Ji-won will need to use her journalistic skills to discover who - or what - is making the calls.
