If you are like me and grew up playing Pokemon Red & Blue, but the anime with Ash & Co. left you wanting for a story closer to the way you played, then this is the show you wanted the Pokemon series to be.
This series is quite short, more of a movie than a proper series but delivered in small episodes. It only taking a handful of events from the game and shows them off in anime fashion, just as you pictured in your head while playing. It skips over a lot of content like most of the gym battles and its more about the character, Red's, development. But it's the only downside to this special series, it leaves you wanting more, which is why it lost a star.
With lots of references to the game, and a character who develops more in a couple of hours of viewing than Ash ever has, you will be wishing that this was the show you used to watch each morning before heading off school.
