The character and pokemon animations are great, the new pokemon are fantastic, the story is good as well – but man, the performance of this game makes it so hard to stay interested. The lighting and shadows change randomly, or based on where the camera is, animations a few metres away from you are like stop motion, the textures are terrible, and with nearly every battle the camera clips through the ground – revealing everything underneath. And currently it suffers from memory leak, so performance gets worse the longer you play. The way to fix this is to save, close the game, and restart it. Hopefully they're going to patch the game because this is so disappointing.

Thanks to Mightyape for sending me my pre-ordered game bang on time… However Gamefreak did not deliver. The gameplay is fun, however I dislike the shadows and the lighting in the game it kind of hurts my eyes, that's just poor optimization. The frames lag further in the distance. Zelda and Immortal Fenyx smash this game out of the water visually and in performance. Quote I have not played Immortals but I have watched tons of gameplay youtube videos… Its WAY TOO easy of a game, catching Pokémons don't even feel as important. I've had more fun playing Shinning Pearl because it was actually challenging, inc the puzzles. Although The story and animation are really good in this game but its not very immersive. Some world design doesn't intrigue me, its kinda basic 3d Models, Monster hunter world has a beautiful and believable world design even though its fully fantasy. Its still an addicting pokemon catching game just doesn't give me much purpose. I do love the crafting system, learning TM moves is much easier.

This is a great Pokemon game, and if you like Pokemon games you will love it. Visually no, it's not great, and that could be disappointing to some. However I personally don't play Nintendo games for the amazing graphics.
