Well cast, well set and well costumed. Story has been changed a bit from the book, which confused me at first but does make sense for the genre. Also cut down for length. Missing some wonderfully written moments – some of them are in the deleted scenes, proving it was originally going to be much closer to its source. Going to be rerun in our household at least. ;-) BTW 2/10/16 MA almost half the price of JB on this.

I was a bit dubious about this film to start with (obviously) and was expecting a ridiculous slapstick romp, more in tune with “The Walking Dead” meets “Mr Bean”. What I got instead was most of Jane Austin's beloved book, faithfully rendered by an A-list cast in full period-drama fashion, but with a little bit of swashbuckling action mixed in (these Bennet girls are NOT to be taken lightly), and a dash of social commentary (Zombies are people too, right) to finish it off. Overall it was very entertaining, very well written (although Jane Austin gets most of the credit for that), beautifully produced, and some excellent ideas on equality and compassion that I'm sure Miss Austin would have approved of.
