The Book of Antioch, a book that is the past, present, and future, has been stolen from a meadow at the base of a large mountain guarded by two oracles, setting into motion events to mark a changing age. A rider named Perseus, bloody and near death, arrives at the oracle's cottage. After being nursed back to health, Perseus learns that he is the one prophesized to reclaim the Book. Perseus sets out the next morning and meets a young satyr, Cyprian, who accompanies him through a changing and dangerous landscape to the lair of a drakamor, an ancient, malicious spirit, where lies the Book.
"Providence Vanished" is the first book of "The Flames of Antioch," a series that chronicles the epic quest of Perseus to find the book and return it to safety.
