Ra is an auction game set in ancient Egypt, spanning 1500 years of Egyptian history. The players strive for power by collecting tiles that represent various aspects of economic, spiritual, and technological growth. The players acquire the tiles by bidding for them in auctions. The currency for these auctions is tokens given to players by Ra. Using these limited tokens, players must decide when to bid and how much to get the tiles they want.
Ra is fast game, it's clever, simple to play and will appeal to gamers and non-gamer's and will likely be played several times in one sitting. There is an element of luck in the game, but there are a lot of tough decisions to make. A beautifully made game that is both intriguing and fun, if you enjoy auction games with a lot of player interaction this is one of the best. And if you are a fan of Knizia's games, it's a must buy.
