"Don't do it"

Not a good sim by a LONG way. I'm a huge railway sim fan and have to say I was incredibly unimpressed with this one. I would be really hard pressed to find even one redeeming feature of this game.

Controls are awkward and really unrealistic and as was said before you always need to move your viewpoint to make adjustments which leads to accidents and resets (which take ages!). Sounds are repetative and personally I found them to really bland. Graphics are ok at best, framerates are miniscule on anything below a 512MB graphics card and only look acceptable on the highest settings. Gameplay is dull, scenarios are very limited and trying to make them better with the editor requires a degree in quantum physics.

Just be very wary before shelling out on this one (even at $29.95) because you will probably feel a tad ripped off. Just be glad you didn't cough up $79.95 like I stupidly did!

Auran Trainz (ultimate collection) is a much much better buy and should cost around the same. It has a much larger community and masses of freeware (& payware) addons if you really get into. it

"Below Expectations"

What a lot of hype for nothing, The graphics are a shocker, you can not see your cab controls without moving view away from the track ahead then you run over points set against you and no signal indication. only person i know getting good frame rates has a $1500.00 graphic card. Haven't tried the editor yet but even kuju say wait for the developers pack to be released. Lots of bugs creating havoc havent yet made a sucseful couple up of new waggons Very poor help files no tutorials. Take ages to load and Ithought the old one was good Here is hoping the 1st patch, of what will be many is not to far away, and not another 50 “GIG” download needed. Maple leaf tracks will have to come to the rescue with this one along with the private gamers. most certainly will build onto it to make some thing worth wile

"Excellent!"

Got it yesterday and it is awesome!

Graphics are excellent, passengers look real, sounds realistic.

BUT has a few bugs which will be fixed soon by Kuju.

Overall 4 star but Train Sim X by Microsoft will carve it up.

"Yeah, i kinda agree."

I partially agree with Ethan about the bugs and patches… but it is pretty easy to keep looking straight and use controls, also you dont need a $1500 Graphix card, i have a 7600GT and it goes well on medium-high graphics.

"Mediocre - not as good as Microsofts Train Similator" Purchased on Mighty Ape

This is too complex and doesn't play as well as the Microsoft Rails series. Graphics are OK but not as upmarket as others available. Has a few slightly better elements, but limited and overall doesn't assist playing.
