Author Biography:

JANE LAWLER a critically acclaimed children's books author, has written 11 picture books for young children, inlcuding National Geographic Kids Ocean Counting featuring undersea photographs by award-winning photo journalist Brian Skerry. Lawler's love of family, nature, and "all things silly" inspires much of her writing. She enjoys visiting schools and libraries. Rain Forest Colors is her second book with National Geogrpahic. www.JanetLawler.com. TIM LAMAN is a contributing photographer to National Geographic magazine, a research associate in Ornithology at the Harvard Museum of Comparative Zoology, and a Fellow at the International League of Conservation Photographers. He is also a field biologist and wildlife photojournalist. Laman has pursued his passion for exploring wild places and documenting little-known and endangered wildlife for National Geographic. Laman has also developed a reputation for being able to come back with shots of nearly impossible subjects like gliding animals in Borneo, displaying Birds of Paradise, and some of the most critically endangered birds in the world.
