Description

Issues of Love, loyalty, and female solidarity form the flame at the heart of this exciting and colourful novel. This book is being used in post-colonial literature courses in US, UK, Indian and Caribbean Universities. ''I found it totally gripping throughout...I was particularly impressed-and moved-by the way the novel effortlessly glided between the worlds of the 1960s and the history of suttee queens 200 years before..the material was absolutely riveting' Angela Thirwell, author, London. 'Hynoptic and lyrical, this mesmerising tale brings to mind Amy Tan at her best' Memsahib Magazine
