Description

An essential guide to Raman spectroscopy and its application in amorphous materials Raman Spectroscopy and its Applications in Amorphous Materials offers scientists and researchers a comprehensive guide that provides an overview of Raman spectroscopy. The book ? written by two experts on the topic ? reviews the fundamentals of inelastic light scattering with atoms and molecules, provides a general overview of the instrumentation, and explores the acquisition of the Raman spectra. The authors also examine the applications of Raman spectroscopy and offer information on interpreting the resulting spectra with an emphasis on amorphous materials. Despite the existence of advanced instrumentation for carrying out Raman measurements, the interpretation of the resulting Raman spectra requires a knowledge of the fundamental physical processes and their manifestation in the spectral peak structure. The authors of the book provide a resource for accurately interpreting the results of spectra. This important book: -Brings together the information on the theory and applications of Raman spectroscopy in amorphous materials -Explores the characterization of materials such as amorphous chalcogenides and low-weight polymers -Offers a guide to a topic that is of paramount importance for semiconductor research -Provides an essential book written by noted experts on the topic Written for materials scientists, analytical chemists, physical chemists, and solid-state physicists, Raman Spectroscopy and its Applications in Amorphous Materials contains an important review of the theory and applications of Raman spectroscopy.
