"If they lack bass, try a different earbud tip!"
5 stars"
Purchased on Mighty Ape

When I first tried these Razer Hammerhead V2s, I was incredibly disappointed. Having been an avid user of Razer Hammerhead v1s for a few years, I found the V2s to be “tinny” and lacking bass. I was able to improve the sound a bit on my PC by using an equalizer, but that didn't help with how bad they sounded in other devices such as my phone.

After much frustration I went online and asked a friend to recommend another brand of earbuds, and instead he advised me to try removing the V2 default cone-shaped earbud tips and put one of the other regular types on the headphones (the V2s come with 3 other types of tip). I tried the medium-sized ones and BOOM, suddenly I was hearing all the delightful bass these earbuds had to offer. Apparently the default tips just didn't fit my ears very well.

After this, I grabbed my old broken Hammerhead V1s and nicked the earbud tips off those (the old “double tip-style” ones Razer used in previous models) and put those on. Even better!

So if you try these earbuds out and they seem a bit lackluster, try using one of the other sets of earbud tips before giving up on them prematurely.

Great sound and quality. For more bass make sure to fit the provided ear plugs that fit your ears best and then the bass is much better along with the sound. Thanks Mightyape for fast awesome service as always

"Good but lacks features and is overpriced"

Opening up the box these earbuds came in was exciting. I was greeted with decent sound quality but felt I was missing bass. I downloaded the Razer Hammerhead app on my iPhone and discovered it doesn't support the cheapest variants of the Hammerhead. Carrying on after extended use I have found that the headphones get extremely uncomfortable in my ears and I have to take them out to recover for a while. In conclusion I highly recommend these headphones in the mid tier. But only buy them if they are on sale :)
