Description

June 1940 - the Dunkirk evacuation ends in failure, as the British Expeditionary Force is ambushed and captured en masse in the French channel port. Lord Halifax, the appeaser Prime Minister, signs a peace treaty with Hitler, thus ending Britain's brief war and effectively recognising German dominance of the European continent. May 1941 - Axis forces launch Operation Barbarossa, the largest land invasion in the history of warfare. By November, the Wehrmacht has taken Moscow, and their forces see out the harsh Russian winter. By the summer of 1948, Nazi Germany rules all of Europe, from the English Channel in the West, to the River Volga in the East. The Russian campaign has been brutal and bloody, but the outside world is largely unaware of the situation on the ground in Eastern Europe. In stark contrast to the Fatherland, Britain is bankrupt, and her Empire is crumbling. Nazi agents operate freely in British territory; their aim - to recruit English families to emigrate and settle in the German colonies of the East. One such family are the Prestons - John, a disillusioned British Army veteran, his Fascist supporting younger brother Andrew, Andrew's long suffering wife Yvonne, and their two teenage children, Edward and Julie. The Preston family take the decisive action of leaving their native London and defecting to Nazi Germany. They are promised a better life; a lavish and fertile plantation in the conquered lands of Belorussia. The reality they discover is an empty and war-torn land, a nightmarish country where the hideous scars of the past are all too evident. The Reich of Renegades is an alternative history saga like none other, with action spanning from the battle scarred port of Dunkirk, to the hot and dusty streets of Jerusalem, from Albert Speer's colossal Welthauptstadt Germania project, to the bleak ruins of war-torn Warsaw and the partisan infested forests of Belorussia...
